Every child deserves roots strong enough to grow from.
Sapling partners directly with underserved communities to build primary schools, equip maternal health clinics, and launch women-led rural cooperatives that thrive for generations.
Every project transitions to 100% local community ownership within 36 months.
"A tree that grows alone falls in the first storm. We plant in groups — families, teachers, and neighbors together."
Sapling was founded in response to a simple observation: aid that arrives once and leaves rarely outlasts the season. Instead of one-off supply drops, we co-invest in standing infrastructure — classrooms, clean water boreholes, clinics, and agricultural cooperatives.
Today we operate across 34 communities, training local teachers, midwives, and cooperative treasurers so every initiative becomes self-sustaining.
What we actually do on the ground
Three interconnected pillars designed to hand lasting ownership back to the communities they serve.

Maternal & Child Health
Mobile prenatal clinics, clean water points, immunization drives, and early childhood nutrition programs run with trained community nurses.
Household Livelihoods

Stories from the field
From the parents, teachers, midwives, and volunteers who lead this work every day.
"The cooperative gave five of us looms, bookkeeping training, and seed capital. Today we supply three regional markets and fund our village school's maintenance."
"I came to volunteer for one dry season. Three years later I still advise the clinic remotely because the local midwives run it with extraordinary precision."
"My daughter walks ten minutes to the new school now instead of two hours to the next town. She wants to become a science teacher right here in our village."
